πΊοΈ Portfolio Map: Display multiple catchment areas
You can now toggle and view multiple areas on the map at the same time within the same data column. For competitive situation columns, the eye icon toggles the area directly β use the dropdown arrow to optionally show competitor markers.
π³ Nets payment data (beta)
Card transaction data from Nets is now live in production, giving the users that are part of the beta version spending insights. A major milestone for understanding consumer behavior across locations in Norway.
π¬ NRH mall revenue in Portfolio
Add Annual Mall Revenue and Mall Index columns directly to your portfolio table from Malls Overview. You can customize filters for industry, shopping center type, county, and more.
π New onboarding flow + paid single reports for free users
A streamlined onboarding experience is live for all free users, along with access to paid single area reports, making the value of Plaace more accessible to all types of users.

Under the Movement tab in any area profile, you can now explore who is visiting the area: age and gender distributions, household types, median income, income distributions, and housing types. Compare across custom time periods for deeper analysis.
π€ Share Dashboards & Portfolios by Email
Send a dashboard or portfolio table directly to colleagues by email. Recipients get a link and can find shared content in their platform list, marked as shared. Shared dashboards respect the recipient's data permissions.
π Import Your Own Data into Portfolio
You can now import your own data directly into your Portfolio table via Excel or CSV file. Bring in your custom metrics or any external dataset and combine it with Plaace's insights β all in one view.
π Key Stats on Dashboards
Add key numbers from any area profile directly to your dashboard as individual widgets β from any data tab. Build your data story with live numbers, no screenshots needed.

- π Location types in Portfolio map β Assign custom types and colors to your locations. Colors are reflected on the map, filterable via the legend.
- π Movement & spending comparison columns β New quarterly and monthly spending and movement columns in Portfolio, comparing current data to the previous year.
- βοΈ Text column in Portfolio β Add free-text columns to annotate your locations however you like.
- βοΈ Infinite scroll in Portfolio β Pagination has been removed. Scroll to the bottom of your table seamlessly.

Road traffic data is live for Swedish locations, available on the paid plan. Previously only available in Norway.
Improvements
- π·οΈ Custom tags for locations β Add custom tags (e.g. "existing" vs. "potential") to locations in your portfolio table, including multiple tags per location.
- π Google Maps chains & locations β Chains and locations from Google Maps are now available in Portfolio for Norway, Sweden, Denmark, and Finland.
- π Dashboard template: adjustable datasource area β Adjust the default datasource area in Area Manager for demographics, competitive situation, spending, and movement widgets.
- π’ Custom columns in Portfolio β Add number, link, and date columns with formatting options.

π Try Plaace before signing up
Visitors can now try even more of our features before deciding to sign up with a free user to get access to more insights. Check out Track Locations or Dashboards.
π Track locations: Filter on numbers and more details for population and concept mix
- Filter on numerical values to see locations matching certain criteria
- More granular demographics: get the population within an age range and/or gender
- More granular concept mix: get the share of concepts within a specific category like Bakeries or Electronics
π Track locations: Housing types
Add the number of housing units, or filter on a specific housing type based on a walk/drive time. Housing types are available in Norway and Sweden, and Norway also includes cabins.

π Map kept reverting to Oslo
We know we have many users outside of Norway, and want to make sure the map continues to show the latest place youβve been looking at. There was a bug that kept zooming back to Oslo city, this has now been fixed.

We have a new and simplified way to get insights quickly and summarized in a Dashboard. You just click on a point in the map or pick the address, and we take care of the rest.

Weβve made it even easier to get started with Dashboards, and to support you weβve launched two templates. Let us know about any additional templates youβd like to see!
The Dashboards are made with:
- Competitive Situation insights based on 10 minutes walk from where you placed the pin
- Demographics insights based on 15 minutes driving from where the pin was dropped
- Movement insights based on the smallest movement grid the pin is in
- Spending insights for the smallest available Urban Area the pin is in (Norway)
π More Dashboard features: Rename areas, Undo changes, Add map views
Here are some of the great improvements based on your feedback:
- Name the locations as youβd like at the same time as you pick them in the map and it will be used in all the charts
- Undo changes in the dashboard by using
ctrl+z(windows) orcmd+z(mac) - Add map views of the areas being compared
π See which Counties, Municipalities and Districts visitors travel from
For a selected area, you can now see where visitors are traveling from, and you can select whether to analyse visits from other counties, municipalities or districts.
The feature is available in Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland and complements the already existing travel patterns from municipality to municipality, etc.
