🌟 Commercial Hubs live in Denmark (BETA) πŸ‡©πŸ‡°

Commercial Hubs are areas identified by Plaace with high density of retail, restaurants and services. They allow you to quickly get a feel for where the commercial activity is concentrated, both within big cities, but also in smaller areas.

image

Improvements and bug fixes

🎨 We no longer distinguish between tenants and property managers

We used to tailor the product experience to whether someone was a tenant or property manager. As we’ve gotten more and more customers, we see that many of them don’t fit in either of the two categories, and that the insights we offer are relevant to everyone in the industry.

The short term effect of this is that all users have access to both sides of the marketplace. If you have any questions related to this, don’t hesitate to contact us in the chat.

image

🎨 Favourite lists are no longer supported

The ability to store something in a favourite list was one of the early features we introduced at Plaace, and it was a quick way to help users get back to something they had been looking at.

However, we’ve learned that our users’ needs are also linked to sharing a story about the insights with others, and with that, storing charts with specific settings. That’s why we introduced Dashboards 🌟 a while back.

The last 6 months, there has almost been no use of Favourites, and it was time to let it go. Affected users have gotten a direct email, and we’ve also had a banner up in the product lately.

🐞 Areas outside of Norway were shown in Similar Areas

There was a bug in Similar Areas where areas outside of Norway would show up in the list, this has now been fixed. We don't (yet) have Similar areas within other countries, or across countries.

An indexed view is especially good when numbers are of different sizes, like spending in a city centre vs municipality, or in a retail category like clothing stores vs grocery stores. It shows the start date as 100 for all lines so they are comparable, and then the growth trend can be compared by seeing if the lines are higher or lower than 100

Improvements and bug fixes

🎨 Easier to compare spending categories

When looking at selected spending categories in compare mode, you can now switch between the areas without resetting your category selection

🎨 Save city centres as favourites or compare with other areas

Use the heart icon to save the area to a favourite list. Click Compare areas from area profile.

🎨 Loading spinner for charts

While waiting for data to load in the charts, we displayed a β€œno data” message. This was a bit misleading since the data was actually on it’s way! Now you get a loading spinner instead. We strive to make the product fast to use, so hopefully you won’t spend that much time hanging out with the loading spinner

🎨 Updated URLs to custom areas

If you have custom areas saved as favourites, it will work seamlessly even if the URLs have changed. If you experience any issues with links saved outside of the platform, let us know and we can help!

Improvements and bug fixes

🎨 Using Kvarud numbers as source for Mall turnover

We’ve made an improvement to total Mall turnover. It used to be the sum of the retail stores in the mall, but we now use the same numbers as the Kvarud report for total Mall turnover (ex. vat) when available. This is reflected with a colour indicator next to numbers and in tooltips for charts

  • Actuals (green): Kvarud numbers (ex. vat), reported via Prognosesenteret
  • Estimated (yellow): estimate by Prognosesenteret (ex.vat), sum of estimated turnover per retail concept located in the mall

The team has enjoyed a bit of vacation lately. Today’s update is mostly about improvements, but stay tuned for the launch of some cool, new features in the coming weeks β˜€οΈ

image

New features

🌟 Use β€œnew development” for projects or properties under construction

This has been a request from many of our property customers that want to showcase projects they are planning or currently developing, to increase transparency of what type of retail spaces will be coming on the market. The property type can be selected when you edit a property profile, or create a new one.

Improvements and bug fixes

🎨 Go to hubs or boroughs from map in concept profiles

Have you ever wanted to explore some of the areas your own or another concept is located in? Now you have hubs and boroughs showing in the concept profile map, and clicking on an area will automatically open it in a new browser tab

image

🎨 Much quicker loading of data tabs within an area profile

Have you noticed? The developers have introduced some really awesome improvements, and it’s now much smoother to switch between the data tabs like competitive situation and spending.

🎨 Property is automatically selected if creating a new space from property profile or portfolio overview

image

🎨 Current tenants in Property profiles sorted by highest turnover

🎨 Better quality of cropped pictures

🎨 Improved map visualisations of areas

We have done a major upgrade of how we show areas. The most noticeable thing might be that areas like Γ…lesund, which is bordering on water, had some funny looking area borders before. This is now fixed, along with several other things that just improves the feeling of using Plaace.

🎨 Ongoing improvements of area profiles

For our most frequent users you’ll notice that there have been some gradual changes to the area profiles in the last weeks. This is based on feedback and user testing and the goal is to improve the overall experience. Expect more changes in the coming weeks and let us know what you think!

🎨 Tweaks to Similar areas

Improvements and bug fixes

🎨 New data partner for spending data is β€œBankAxept”

It’s the same data as before, but Vipps and BankAxept have de-merged and the branding has changed again from β€œVipps” and back to β€œBankAxept”. With this change, we’ve also worked with BankAxept to update our technical integration. This work is now finished. The biggest change is that some historic data has been updated to include more locations.

🐞 Mobile login with Microsoft and Google from some pages

We had an issue where signup and login from other urls than the main signup or login page didn’t work. This has now been improved

🐞 Some issues with list of tenants looking to expand in an area

For a while, this list were showing tenants with a current location in the area, instead of tenants looking to expand to the area. This is now fixed!

🐞 Dependency to translation service

There was an incident on Jun 28, where the platform was not available to end users for ~30min. This was due to a dependency on a third-party tool and downtime on their side. It was quickly fixed, and we’ve improved our setup so similar issues won’t affect our platform in the future.

New features

🌟 Save an area directly to your concept profile

While exploring hubs or custom drawn areas you can now save them as an area of interest that is visible on your concept profile. These expansion areas of interest are available to property managers and are key in terms of being contacted by property managers, and possibly finding a match even before spaces are listed on the market

image

🌟 Spaces that are β€œavailable soon” also listed in area profiles

For tenants exploring areas, we display which spaces are for rent. Now we also include spaces that will be available for rent soon

image

Improvements and bug fixes

🎨 Navigate to areas from visitors’ origin map

We’re getting a lot of positive feedback on the visitors’ origin map, now it will also be possible to go to any of the origin areas and look at e.g. the demography

image

🎨 Clicking on a concept location in table will open location tooltip in map

This makes it easier to quickly find the exact location when the concept has many locations in the same area

image

🎨 Better guiding when adding photos to space profiles

There was a limit of uploading 10 photos at a time, and not good enough guiding for the user when exceeding the max photo size or number of photos. It’s now possible to upload more photos at once, and we’ll let you know if one of your pictures is too large. We also show a loading icon while we upload all the photos. This will soon be implemented for property and concept profiles too.

🎨 Displaying space size and floor when added by tenants

For concepts, it’s possible to add space size and floor to both existing locations and new locations

🐞 It wasn’t possible to save new expansion areas for collaborators

With the new improvements to this whole feature, we have also resolved any related bugs. Let us know if we can help to add expansion areas you are interested in

🐞 If an area was very small, some insights didn’t display correctly

🐞 Adding new concept locations was unavailable for a few hours

With this bug fix, we have also improved some of the logic and performance of the concept locations, enabling more functionality in the future as well

New features

🌟 Key insights on all space profiles

Each space profile made with Plaace automatically gets a summary of the area it’s located in, regardless of whether the space is for rent or off-market.

The area summary will be visible to anyone with the link, which can be shared externally in emails or via e.g. Facebook and Linkedin. When the viewer logs in they can see contact info and more insights about the space and area.

image

🌟 Key insights on all area profiles

All area profiles now have a summary of key insights, available even before creating a Plaace user. This makes it easier to share areas you are interested in with different stakeholders. Some areas in Norway are also promoted on the Plaace homepage

image

🌟 Visitors´ origin extended to top 50 areas

We launched the top 10 areas where visitors live or work a few weeks back and the customer feedback has been great! This has now been extended to top 50 areas, which gives an even better view of the potential customer base.

image

🌟 Area profiles on mobile

image

image

Improvements and bug fixes

🎨 The x to close tooltips was not completely centered

Not a critical bug, but several of you noticed. Now that it’s fixed, you can focus your attention on more juicy insights!

image

🐞 The button to add new expansion areas was missing for a while

Get in touch if you want help with adding or editing areas you are considering as part of your expansion strategy

image

🐞 Outline of selected areas was not visible in area profile map

🐞 Area profile would reset to summary tab when going to a new area

🐞 It was not possible to edit text format in space description

🐞 For a brief period, was not possible to save hubs as favourites

🐞 BankAxept data was not updated daily on a few instances

This has been fixed quickly when reported by users, and we are also working with the data partner to increase stability with a larger update. In the meantime we appreciate feedback from our users if it should happen again.

image

🌟 Historical revenue in mall profiles

Historical concept turnover for all tenants of a mall, split by category of concepts.

image

Improvements and bug fixes

🎨 More relevant insights for new malls

If a mall didn’t exist yet in 2020, some of the key insights showed as empty. Now we have a dynamic rule that displays the most relevant year per mall, e.g. at LΓΈren Torg

🐞 For some spending charts, the data had not been updated since April 10

This was due to some area definitions changing, and it ended up affecting all areas. We’ve made the update smarter, the daily update is back on track again and the missing days have been added

🐞 Previously sketched area kept reappearing when switching to other area types

This was quite annoying, so we fixed it!

🐞 Map was sometimes stuck in Oslo

When looking at areas elsewhere in Norway, the maps would sometimes show in Oslo instead of the selected area. This should now be fixed!

🐞 Wasn’t possible to add some concepts to favourite lists directly from the profile

You can make favourite list of anything in the platform, whether potential spaces, interesting concepts or areas. This functionality was missing from some concept profiles, and it’s been fixed

🐞 It was sometimes not possible to change year in locations table for unclaimed concepts

β€£
Apr 11, 2022

New features

🌟 Plaace areas profiles available to everyone

Now it’s possible to explore the areas without creating a user first, either directly from a google search, the Plaace homepage, or if someone shares the link to an area. Stay tuned as we’ll soon introduce some more area insights for everyone!

image

Improvements and bug fixes

We had an issue where only collaborators on a property could see key insights like total turnover and number of visits to neighbouring area, this is now fixed and available to all users with paid subscription

🐞 Some links between properties and spaces were outdated

This is now working, and we’ve also implemented a fix to avoid similar issues in the future.

New features

🌟 Where visitors live or work

We are really excited to introduce a new insights based on the Telia movement data. For any area in Norway, you can see top 10 home areas of people visiting an area, also known as the catchment area. It's based on actual movement data, and not just theoretical travel time by walking or driving.

image

This is available to users on the paid plan, reach out to contact@plaace.co if you’d like a demo, or would like to upgrade your subscription directly.

🌟 Download data from all the charts

We introduced download for Monthly spending earlier this month, and now it’s also available for all charts and tables in area profiles like spending, movement, competitive situation and neighbourhood. This is available to users on the paid plan.

image

🌟 Data available for more granular areas

The smallest available statistical units in Norway, the β€œgrunnkrets” (base areas) tend to be smaller in more populated areas, which gives a more granular view of data and insights. They are used in the new movement chart to display where visitors live or work, and they’re also available in the boroughs view

image

Improvements and bug fixes

🎨 The list of spaces is now sorted by last created on top

The sorting by creation date in β€œFind spaces” disappeared for a while, but has now been re-introduced. Based on feedback from users, β€œFind spaces” is now automatically filtered to only show spaces that are available β€œFor rent” or β€œAvailable soon”. It’s still possible to change the filter to see occupied spaces.

🎨 More areas are now available with spending data

For areas that have changed municipality definition over the years, like Asker, we did not manage to display spending data, and were instead just showing data for Norway. This is now being handled dynamically over time for all types of areas

🎨 Some desktop features looked a bit weird for brief periods of time

As we’ve worked on making some features more mobile friendly, it has on a few occasions messed up the layout on desktop. We are continuously improving both desktop and mobile

🐞 Some charts and tables had old β€œupdated” dates

The data and content itself was up to date, but the last updated function did not work correctly, and showed e.g. β€œUpdated: April 1, 2001". This has now been fixed

🐞 Space profiles were unavailable for a brief period

This was reported by a user and we immediately fixed it

🐞 Some charts showed 2022 instead of 2021 in the timeline

🐞 Bug in first version of download data from charts

When we launched download of data from charts, there was a mix in order of magnitude of some numbers in a few of the charts. This was quickly corrected and affected users were notified directly.

New features

🌟 Download data from Monthly spending chart

For users on the paid plan, it’s now possible to download data from the Monthly spending chart, either as .xlsx or .csv. Let us know what you think, and while you try it out, we’ll also add this functionality to all the other charts and tables.

image

Improvements and bug fixes

🎨 A part of the pictures didn’t show in the tooltips

Now it’s easier to scroll through the pictures directly from the maps

image

🎨 Spacing for descriptions

There were some issues with making paragraphs in the descriptions, all fixed now!

🐞 For a while, it wasn’t possible to scroll down and use all the filters when looking for spaces

New features

🌟 Daily card transactions for Fredrikstad city centre

In collaboration with Fredrikstad NΓ¦ringsforening, we’ve defined a city centre for Fredrikstad with daily updated card transaction data. We will be defining city centres in other large cities as well, stay tuned!

🌟 More of the Plaace platform is now mobile friendly 🧑

image

🌟 Property profiles with more info

Yearly revenue, the yearly split in revenue between chains and independent concepts, and average daily visits to the area. More insights to come, we are really excited about soon launching a view of where visitors are travelling from!

🌟 Add any type of profile to your favourite lists

Now it’s also possible to add all the auto-generated profiles in the Plaace platform, even if the profile has not been actively claimed and updated by the business owner yet.

🌟 Embed a profile on your webpage

Here’s an example of using the embed functionality on Notion. It will display the public version of a profile, but the user has to sign up to see contact information and more details.

🎨 Vulkan added as a mall

New features

🌟 Filters and map zoom stays the same for Area Insights

As you explore different areas, and navigate between pages, we will now remember the map setting and other filters you’ve turned on during your visit. This was based on feedback from several of our frequent users, and should make exploring much smoother!

image

🌟 Add locations to your profile already when you sign them

Add a new location to the concept profile, including signing month and tentative opening month. This helps you better showcase the status of your expansion plans and keep track of your progress.

🌟 Add space size (m2) to your locations

Keep track of the space size of each of your locations. This also showcases to property managers what your current portfolio looks like.

🌟 Split of chains vs. independent concepts in malls

How many chains vs. independent concepts are present in a mall can indicate what type of profile and crowd the mall is addressing. That’s why we’ve included this chart not only on area profiles, but also directly on the mall profiles.

image

Improvements and bug fixes

🎨 Total number of spaces is now shown in map

To make the performance as good as possible, we sometimes limit the number of items we show at once in the map. This was also applied to the cluster of spaces (the big orange circles), but unfortunately made it look like we had less spaces available in each city. This has now been changed to reflect all spaces.

image

🎨 For tenants on free plan, spaces will now also show in the map

In an area profile, we always show the spaces for rent, but they were not reflected in the map. This is now available to all tenants

image

🎨 Possible to change language while creating a new profile

Now it’s possible to change the language setting while you’re editing something, like creating a new space or concept. Before, this would reset the page and you would have to start over πŸ˜…

🎨 Search for facilities is no longer Case sensitive

If you searched for a facility with Capital letter, it wouldn’t show up as an alternative in the search result, but this is now fixed

🐞 Going into profiles from table only worked with cmd+click

Now, it will also work if you just click on a name in the table

🐞 Total population was not visible for a while

image

🐞 It was not possible to add new locations to concept profiles

This has been fixed, and we’ve added some new improvements as well!

New features

🌟 Spaces for rent in the largest Norwegian cities

Several customers have already added available spaces in places outside of Oslo, but now we have good coverage in Bergen, Trondheim and Stavanger and expect to see more activity from users in those regions.

🌟 Post a link to your space or concept and get name and picture included

When you post a link to your space or concept on certain places like Linkedin or Facebook it will automatically add the name and main picture. For some places, like Slack, it will also add part of the description.

image

image

🌟 Historic spending data Trondheim and Bergen boroughs

We recently introduced spending data for boroughs in Trondheim and Bergen, and this now includes historic data from January 2019. Can you spot how the covid restrictions impacted the number of card transactions in Trondheim city centre?

image

🌟 Movement data for Q4 2021 is available

The average visits for Q4 2021, and 2021 as a whole year are now available for users on the paid subscription.

Improvements and bug fixes

Tenant profiles

🎨 When entering a profile, it was not possible to use back button in browser, this has now been fixed

🎨 The default map view has been adjusted to Norway instead of Oslo

🎨 Click on a concept location in table and see geographical placement in map, the map also zooms into the specific location

🎨 The shortcut links in the summary section now correctly links to the relevant parts of the tenant profile

🎨 Grouped space status and availability

Both when creating and editing a space, we’ve moved the fields β€œspace status” and β€œavailability” next to each other and updated the date picker.

🎨 Space size is now possible up to 3000 m2

Both when creating a space, but also when searching for a space, we now allow space sizes up to 3000 m2.

🐞 Add company name to spaces and properties

This part was not working correctly, now it’s possible to add both company name and organisation number

🐞 Some users have experienced issues when adding a collaborator or changing contact info

🐞 Some of area profiles and location tables were linked to the year

We had a small hick-up as the year turned to 2022, and some parts of the platform were unavailable for a short time. It’s all fixed now!

Happy holidays from the whole Plaace team! We are now on instagram, follow us for more updates! It’s been a really exciting year with lots of new features and improvements for the Plaace product 🌟

We’re looking forward to bringing you even more cool stuff in the new year 🎁🎁

image

New features

🌟 Share profiles with people who are not Plaace users

You can now copy the url to your space or concept and share with others in emails, linkedin, facebook, etc. Others can see a preview of the profiles without having a Plaace account.

If you experience a lot of incoming requests about your space or concept, it can be good practice to first have them take a look at your Plaace profile, with the up-to-date details of what you’re looking for, and also ask them to make a Plaace profile describing what they are offering.

image
image
image
image

🌟 Sign up to explore more about a space or concept

With a part of the profiles being open to the public, it lowers the threshold for more people to explore and understand what the market looks like. In order to see contact info and more details about your space or concept, they still have to create a user and log in.

image

🌟 Property managers now have access to see all active tenants on the platform, and explore their concept profiles

Knowing that some spaces are kept off-market, it’s very valuable for tenants to communicate that they are actively expanding and looking for new spaces. At the same time as we are making a version of all profiles public, we’ve also updated the access for property managers on the free plan so they can see all tenants.

image

🌟 Boroughs and heatmaps available in Trondheim and Bergen

We now have boroughs for Trondheim and Bergen, in addition to Oslo. This makes it possible to show certain info as heatmaps, e.g. age, population and income distribution. The boroughs and heatmaps are in addition to the smaller commercial hubs available all over Norway. By clicking into any of the areas, you can see more info, like neighbourhood, spending, competitive situation, etc.

image

Improvements and bug fixes

🎨 Search for concepts and navigate to profiles also on free plan

One of the easiest ways to find a concept profile in the platform is to use the search or category drill down of concept composition in area profiles. This has only been available on the paid plan, but we've now made part of the info available and searchable for all users

image

🎨 We added a tooltip to better show the split of categories in a mall

image

Login and Microsoft account

🎨 We've made it possible to log in with same email as both Microsoft and Google account

🐞 Logging out of platform was not possible when using a Microsoft account

🐞 Fixed some issues with using Microsoft account on Edge browser

Other fixes

🎨 It's now possible to save any type of area to favourite lists, also boroughs and municipalities outside of Oslo

🎨 It's now possible to open any element in a new tab (right click or with keyboard shortcuts)

🐞 We fixed some issues with setting a team member as contact person on Properties

🐞 Users on the free plan could not see revenue information about their own concept

Improvements and bug fixes

🎨 More navigation options for the list of tenants in Properties

🐞 Categories in some of the Neighbour charts were in wrong order

For the two charts "Distribution by age" and "Distribution by income", some of the categories were in the wrong order

image

Improvements and bug fixes

🎨 Collaborators can also invite others to edit a profile or favourite list

Previously, only owners of a profile could invite others to edit and collaborate. Now, everyone with edit access can invite additional people to collaborate on profiles or favourite lists.

🎨 Updated map on Space profiles to show which area it's located in

Regardless of where a space is located, it will show on the profile if it's close to a commercial hub, and viewers can click to learn more about the area.

image

🎨 Edit the name of a Favourite list

A small change that will improve the user experience of lists. Now you can also edit the name. Make a list of your favourite profiles or areas, and share it with a colleague.

🎨 Weekly updated numbers from Prognosesenteret

The numbers in the platform are now automatically updated every week as we receive them from our partner. This allows for recently reported financial numbers to be included, or any other changes based on feedback.

🐞 Growth percentages were sometimes very high

We had a bug in the way we calculated growth percentages, and it could show as a very high number if e.g. it was the first year with revenue for a tenant.

Nov 5, 2021

New features

You can also select which time period to see the data for, either quarterly or yearly basis. For the busiest hours chart, you can also select day of the week.

image

Improvements and bug fixes

Improvements and bug fixes

🎨 Card transaction data is now updated daily

We've been working with our partner to improve this, and now the data should always be available the next day for all the spending charts! Did you know that yesterday, there was a total of ~3.1 million card transactions in the retail sector?

Oct 12, 2021

New features

🌟 Claim a concept

Earlier this fall, we launched a really cool feature that auto-generates concept profiles with revenue information for some of the largest chains in Norway. Now it's possible to claim one of these profiles if you own it, and add custom info like pictures, contact info, expansion plans or other details. Go to an area and see if your company has a profile, and claim it now!

image

🌟 Updated with 2020 data from Prognosesenteret

Financial reports are in for many of the concepts, and this is now reflected in the platform. In general, many numbers have changed from red and yellow (needs validation or estimates) to green (based on actual reported numbers).

🌟 Ability to change year for revenue data on concept profiles

We recently launched profiles for the largest chains in Norway, with info about revenue and number of employees per location, and the numbers were based on 2020 financial year. Now, it's possible to change the year for the locations table and see the detailed info for previous years as well.

🌟 Spaces for rent in each area

When exploring any area in Norway, tenants will now see a list of available spaces in that specific area. This works for custom drawn areas, as well as commercial hubs or boroughs.

image

🐞 Not possible to access favourited items

Did you know that you can always save a space, concept or area in different lists and share with colleagues or partners? Accessing your lists was temporarily unavailable, but this is now back!

image

🌟 Movement data is live!

image

🌟 Revamp of the mini-cards that show a space or concept profile in the map

We've made it much easier to stay on the map and get a quick glance at many different things, check out the cool new design that highlights key information of each space or concept, and even lets you navigate through the pictures. For users on the paid version, each concept pin will also show the revenue information and number of employees.

image

Improvements and bug fixes

🎨 Much better performance

Our development team has been doing a major improvement of the speed in the platform. One of my favourite improvements is the search function among the concepts with the highest revenue in an area, and going in and explore more info about a specific concept

image

🐞 We couldn't always open our newly launched concept profiles with revenue info

Earlier in August, we launched a really cool feature that auto-generates concept profiles with revenue information for some of the largest chains in Norway. We were a bit quick to launch, and have since been working to smooth out some of the issues

New features

🌟 Card transaction data outside of Oslo

We've been live with the BankAxept card transactions for Oslo since July, but now we also show data per municipality outside of Oslo. Did you know that people in Bergen tap their cards almost as many times on Fridays as Saturdays?

image

🎨 Improved speed

We're always working to make the Plaace platform even better to use, this time we've worked to make the use of maps faster!

🎨 Internet sales has been removed from areas

Internet sales had sneaked into the area revenue, which skewed the picture a bit too much for some areas πŸ‘‹

Improvements and bug fixes

🎨 Showing contact person and not owner on the profiles

When updating the contact person for a concept or space, it will now also be reflected in the search results visible to other users.

When zooming in or moving around in the map, the spaces in the map will update to show the relevant results. This sometimes led a few spaces to not be included, this is now fixed!

🐞 Spaces were no longer sorted by newly added

Spaces are automatically sorted by the most recently created ones. This feature was temporarily not working as intended.

New features

🌟 Spending data from Vipps

The Vipps data represents ~75% of debit card transactions in physical stores in Norway (BankAxept). The graphs are updated weekly, and any changes in shopping patterns can be detected quickly. At the bottom of each area page, daily spending for all of Norway is visible. This chart is updated daily to show the last 30 days of card transactions. More detailed data for municipalities outside of Oslo will be available soon.

image

🌟 2020 data available for Competitive situation

The actual and estimated revenue per business location is now available for 2020.

🌟 Market gap analysis

A market gap analysis per area is now available as part of the Competitive situation.

image

Improvements and bug fixes

🎨 Stay on selected data tab when navigating between areas

We've added an improvement that lets you stay on the selected data tab when navigating between areas. This makes it easier to quickly compare the same analysis for different areas, whether it's the summary, competitive situation, spending or demography.

image

🎨 Turn off areas

Sometimes you just want a cleaner work area, so we've made it possible to remove the hubs or boroughs from the map, in combination with the other filters like spaces and concepts.

image

Improvements and bug fixes

🎨 Option to filter on type of concept among the 50.000+ concepts available on Plaace

In Area Insights, you can see all concepts in Norway. It's now possible to filter and just show one concept type, e.g. Retail. The map shows more results as you zoom in or move to other areas.

image

🎨 Boom, zoom!

When entering a specific area, the map is now more zoomed in to focus on the selected area. And when you search for a street or place, the map will zoom all the way in, not just show the whole city.

🐞 Norwegian version was gone for a little while

Our Norwegian version of the Plaace platform was not available for a period, this is now fixed. Velkommen tilbake!

🐞 Words got split in two

When describing your concepts and spaces, words at the end of the line got split in two. It made things a bit difficult to read, so this will no longer happen.

April 27, 2021

New features

🌟 New list of facilities

New features

🌟 Share lists of favourites with others

Collect your favourite spaces, concepts or areas in different lists, and share them with others to either view or edit the lists together with you. This is particularly useful for collaborating within a team, together with a broker or others outside your company.

image

🌟 Automatically add current locations to a concept

When you create a new concept, you can automatically add any current locations if you've entered the Norwegian company organization number. If you have many existing locations, this will save significant time! You can always edit the name of each location later, and add or remove locations.

image

🌟 "Areas to expand" and "concept presentation" only visible to property managers

As a concept owner, some of the info you add to your profile, will only be visible to property managers on a paid plan. This applies to the "Presentation" section, where you can add a pdf, and areas you are interested in for new locations. In user testing, we've heard the willingness to share this info with property managers, but several have asked whether it needs to be visible to other concept owners. Let us know what you think!

image

Improvements and bug fixes

🎨 New spaces are now shown at the top of the list

Both concept owners and property managers want high visibility of new spaces added to the Plaace platform, so they are now shown first. Use the filters to find the most relevant spaces for you.

image

🎨 Added option "to be discussed" for rent type and willingness to change space

Several property managers and brokers have mentioned that they often decide on rent type and potential changes to the space in dialogue with new tenants. One outcome can also be a mix of fixed rent and a percentage of revenue. That's why we've added the option "to be discussed".

image

🐞 It was only possible to add one floor for spaces

For a while, it was not possible to mark multiple floors for a space, this is now fixed

image

Added key info to area name, and several improvements to concept chart and map

🎨 When you explore the areas, you can hover over the different areas to see key info before selecting an area with more details

🐞 When we introduced a more granular grouping of concepts, some of the bars ended up with overlapping descriptions. This is now fixed!

🎨 We've now made it possible to filter away locations in the map down to the last category

🐞 If more concepts were located at the same address, only one of them would show in the map. Now, the pin will split into several pins if there are multiple locations at the same address

image

🐞 Added missing Norwegian translations

We add new features and fixes as quickly as possible, but sometimes this means translations are lagging a bit behind, we've now made a bigger review of the Norwegian translations, let us know if you miss something or have suggestions for better translations!

New features

🌟 Are you a property manager or a concept owner?

To make sure you get the most out of Plaace, we are now introducing roles: are you a property manager or a concept owner? Most existing users have gotten a role assigned to them automatically. If not, you are asked to pick a role the next time you log in. Depending on the role you choose, we will adapt some of the features to best suit your needs.

image

🌟 Free plans

We are excited to introduce free plans for both property managers and concept owners. Add as many spaces and concepts as needed and explore areas for free. Tenants also get access to all spaces that are available for rent.

image

Improvements

🎨 Overview

We've cleaned up the overview page. Depending on your role, either spaces or concepts are in focus. Spaces or concepts that you have created, or been invited to edit, are listed here. We are highlighting some key info, status, and the collaborators that have access. Some user might notice that we've removed property profiles for now, but they will return in the future in a new and improved form.

image

🎨 Move the map to show where a new location is added

Many of you are actively using the locations overview to manage your location strategy. We got a user request to move the map view to show where a new pin was placed when adding a new location, and that is now live!

image

March 24, 2021

New features

🌟 New space profile

We have upgraded the space profile to make your spaces shine! Each section can be easily edited and the profile has gotten a make-over. Floorpan can be uploaded as pdf file and displayed directly on the profile. Pictures of the space are bigger in size, crucial details like space size or availability are grouped together. Several people from the team can edit the profile, and contact info can be updated to any of the collaborators. Logo of property company can also be added, to increase brand value across the portfolio.

image

🌟 New concept profile

We are happy to announce the new concept profile! Each section can be easily edited and the profile has gotten a make-over. Each profile has a contact card in colours matching the concept type, and we've included a company logo, organisation number and links to your social media profiles. Display a pdf presentation with more details about your concept directly on the profile, and introduce your team to potential partners. The section with key financial info has been temporarily removed and will be re-introduced later in a new and improved shape.

image

🌟 New data for concepts in Oslo

We have launched an improved dataset of all concepts and their locations in Oslo. This means we've also introduced a new and more granular grouping of concepts, allowing you to drill down to e.g. coffee shops in a certain area. A similar overview of Norway will follow soon!

image

🌟 Descriptions for areas

We have added a Plaace summary of each area in Oslo, to make it easier to learn about new areas.
